6 steps to throwing the best Mardi Gras party ever

Carnival has officially begun, and we are counting down to Mardi Gras! It's a short season, so we are taking advantage of every moment.

If you're hosting some kind of Mardi Gras get together, take a look at the following 6 steps to help you with the party planning process. We've got recipes. We've got tutorials. We've got music, gear, and everything else you'll need to get your "parade" on and to host an amazing party.

 

 

 

Step 1. You need food. No scratch that... First, you need drinks.

To start off this party planning process, we recommend having one or two specialty drinks to add to your basic selection of alcohol. If you click the images below you'll be taken to the recipes for our top favorite specialty drinks this season. In order from left to right, we have a special Bloody Mary shot called the Dirty Mary which will be perfect for those early parades (gotta eat your veggies). Then for fun, there is the King Cake Old Fashioned with directions on how to make the ice cubes with king cake babies. Step 2. Your attire is one of the most important things.  

You know the saying "we don't hide our crazy, we parade it in the streets," right? Well, that's the perfect excuse to wear absolutely whatever you want for Mardi Gras, we believe. Step 3. Okay, okay... you need food, too. 

You thought we were going to skip the food, huh? This is the south. We would never forget the food! We live to eat down here. Step 4. Decor is everything.

Step 5. You must set the mood with the right music.

Surely that's enough music to last through your Mardi Gras party, but we won't judge you if your Mardi Gras party lasts more than 4 days. Step 6. You'll need the right gear before you head out to the parades.
